Located in the vibrant heart of Montréal on Rue Sainte-Catherine O, Manga Bistro is a sushi restaurant where Japanese cuisine beautifully melds with a playful anime-inspired atmosphere. This cozy spot is a hidden gem for sushi lovers and pop culture enthusiasts alike, offering a culinary adventure wrapped in the colorful world of manga and anime.
The menu at Manga Bistro is a delightful journey through traditional and grilled sushi options, rice bowls, skewers, and irresistible desserts. Start with the Rouleau de Saumon et Avocat, where fresh salmon meets creamy avocado in a bite-sized harmony of flavors. The Torch Sushi Combo (15pcs) beckons with a variety of perfectly seared and vibrant nigiri that tease the palate with smoky, buttery hints. Not to be missed are the Torched Salmon Nigiri (3pcs), where the subtle char brings a rich depth to the tender fish, and the tender Beef Tataki (12pcs), featuring lightly seared slices of beef that melt with each bite.
For those craving comfort and heartiness, the rice and noodle bowls deliver ample satisfaction. Whether it’s the Manga Salmon Don with Miso Soup or the robust Beef Ribs Rice Bowl with Miso Soup, each dish balances bold flavors and wholesome ingredients. The skewer combos—offering chicken, beef, lamb, and shrimp—are perfect for sharing, grilling up a medley of smoky, savory bites that pair wonderfully with the restaurant’s unique drinks and sides.
The dining atmosphere here is just as enticing as the food itself. Anime posters, figures, and giant statues of beloved characters like Luffy and Naruto transform Manga Bistro into more than a restaurant—it’s a passionate homage to Japanese pop culture. This immersive experience makes every visit fun and memorable, igniting nostalgia and excitement whether you're a longtime fan or new to the world of manga.
Reviewers consistently praise the vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. Tasnim A. highlights a 10/10 quality and flavor in the sushi, underlining the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence. Loyal regular Vinny Manni swears by it as the best all-you-can-eat sushi in Montreal, commending its unbeatable value and attentive service. Meanwhile, Marizilda Carneiro emphasizes the variety and freshness of dishes, from sushi to hot meals, alongside a friendly and attentive staff that elevates the dining experience.
Do keep in mind, Manga Bistro’s growing popularity means it can get quite busy, especially during peak hours. Booking a reservation is highly recommended to avoid long wait times, a common comment noted by visitors like Ruthful Thinker and Zita Claire Magsino. However, the welcoming staff and lively vibe ease any frustrations, turning waiting time into a chance to soak in the unique décor and atmosphere.
In summary, Manga Bistro is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious sushi in a setting that’s as entertaining as it is delectable. It’s a spot where mouthwatering dishes and the energetic spirit of anime culture combine to create an unforgettable dining experience right in the heart of Montréal.
The sushi were very tasty and flavorful. We were three people, the wait was about 45 minutes, but they offered us a shared table after 25 minutes. The food was 10/10, the quality and flavor was exceptional. Unfortunately not a great experience with the seating and wait time.
Best all you can eat in the Montreal region! Been coming since it opened and go Literaly once every month or 2 for my sushi cravings Prices - lunch-> 36$ / Supper -> 45$ - A1 service / A1 Food / A1 environment
For me is honestly one of the best all-you-can-eat restaurants in Montreal! The food is super fresh, tasty, and there’s a huge variety, from sushi to hot dishes, everything is well-prepared and delicious. The staff is really friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. Totally worth it, I’ll definitely be back!
This spot is an absolute haven for anime fans! Every wall is plastered with posters and lined with figures, giving it such a unique vibe that you won’t find anywhere else. That said, it can get really crowded so do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Walking in without one is a nightmare; you could be stuck in line for hours. Now, the food? Amazing. With so many options on the menu, every dish we tried was delicious and definitely worth the price. So if you’re a geek like me, this place is a must-visit!
This was me and my boyfriend’s first time coming here and we had a really good time! We went on a Sunday night around 7:30pm and there was a long wait time but they will put you on a waitlist and text you when your table is ready. The place has alot of anime decor like figurines, a Luffy & Naruto statue and the walls are covered in anime & manga, which I loved!!!! The sushi was good and came pretty quick, however we had to wait a bit for any of the fried stuff. My boyfriend loved the Osaka Roll alot, he said it practically melted in his mouth and I loved the Torched Tilapia Nigiri, it was light and I easily had 5 of them. Overall a good experience, and will probably come back again at a not so busy time!
Had lunch here nicely decorated good vibes. Pay a set fee for eat as much as you like for an hour I think it is. Self ordering from ipad on table with pictures of options thought that was great. I had miso soup, katsu, fried rice, shrimp nigiri and salmon. The rice and katsu are small portions hence the pay for an hour and you can add as many qty of times as you wish. All dishes were very tasty. The only thing is that I wish the menu had more options like chicken and avo sushi for example. Other than that, it's a great place to stop in.
I recently visited Manga Bistro for the second time, and it was an incredible experience! The torched sushi was a standout—it was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The unique manga decoration throughout the restaurant added a fun and vibrant atmosphere, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. The easy order system made dining effortless; I loved how quickly I could choose from the extensive menu. Service might feel a bit rushed at times but nothing that made our experience unpleasant. Overall, a great sushi buffet that I recommend.
Incredible sushi, so fresh and full of flavor! This has quickly become my favorite sushi spot, and not just because of the fun manga-themed ambiance. The quality of the fish is top-notch, beautifully presented, and everything tastes super fresh. The themed decor adds a playful and unique vibe that makes the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for both sushi lovers and anime fans alike!
